1.                  New trellising techniques for hydroponics culture of English cucumbers

English or green cucumber is nowadays a widely grown vegetable under hydroponics greenhouses in Mauritius. The ever rising cost of inputs compels producers to keep on increasing their yield whilst making optimum use of resources. Promotion of plant canopy development coupled with a reduction in planting density is a reliable approach in achieving this aim. One or two additional suckers left growing along the main stem help the cucumber plant canopy to swell to sizeable mass
